One of the wildest places I’ve ever shot- the elevator had me more than a little scared many times. The waves swelled over the edge of this lava shelf waist high. They surged out of the elevator shaft itself just as high. In order to keep from being swept away or losing my camera and tripod I had to stand my ground against the waves. Each time I saw a big set coming in I worried that this would be the one to get me.
