It was mentioned that since there were no clouds that the the sunset would be sub par. I almost didn’t go out that afternoon to shoot. Then I remembered that I don’t shoot at sunset because the sun is setting. I shoot because I want sunset light: magic light. While I was trotting around this location for a scene I noted these stairs descending into glassy etherial water and I wanted to capture the feeling of stepping into a bath meant for the kings and gods. I set up and let my shutter open for 3/10 seconds.
