Up in the Dolomites in Northern Italy I found myself standing on the edge of a steep grade. The mountain side fell off sharply in front of me and trees reached toward the light in descending rows. What I was looking at was effectively natures version of plinko. At the time, though, my mind was racing for a different way to capture this beautiful light, not thinking of plinko and the Wheel of Fortune. Swinging my camera vertically while opening the shutter for 1/5th of a second I created the images that follow (after about a trillion attempts). Each is a tad different in color and fashion. One is warm and in a panoramic format. Two and Three become a little cooler and harsher making one of the three a perfect edition to den, bedroom or office. I call the collection “Dreaming in the Italian Wild.”
