Pacing the Sun
Its like chasing the horizon on a wet, humid day. The wind hits you like waves and the sun warms like every glowing element on every stove: warning you of its oppression and expecting gratitude. The air around you simmers as you imagine dipping into the ocean like blacksmith thrusts steel into a salted quenching barrel. You’d steam with desire to never see the surface again. Its a heat vision, a sweat tent with no door, a mirage of an oasis. The dream burns until it burns itself out; you’re cool again, and looking for another fire.
