A whisper of Quiet Revelation

a note from the artist

It's a sanctuary of introspection that the mind's eye wanders. A sea of thoughts encapsulated in stones so deep and vast that the surface ripples like an obsidian ocean caressed by hidden currents. The stones speak in hushed tones that brim with the substance of unspoken dreams, withheld opinions, and veiled motivations.

Above, the horizon becomes a seam stitched by the very hands of the cosmos; revelation blooms a celestial orb, shedding illumination upon the murky waters of contemplation.

It is a light that gently reveals, casting a glow that does not banish shadow but dances with it in delicate harmony.

Here, in the confluence of shadow and luminescence, the observer stands at the threshold, where a single idea cascades like a ray of light into the abyss, offering clarity and hope. It is the whisper of quiet revelation that resonates through the silent symphony of the universe, a timeless echo that murmurs the secrets of existence in the space where inner and outer worlds converge.

My newest release from Iceland is a shadowed scene of serenity and a well of calm energy. From where I stood, a literal ocean of stones extended to the horizon, and a sandstorm swirled about me. At one moment, the world was dim. In the next moment, the light would pierce the shifting and grating veils of dust and debris. At all times, I had to protect my face and my lens from the fast-moving stones while scanning the scene for the next breakthrough of light.

A Whisper is a scene that I've been searching for for years. A painted landscape of contrast that is dark but hopeful, bright but solemn, and is both a window into another world and a looking glass into myself.

About the prints: I print on a premium substrate that is unparalleled in depth and luminosity. The material refracts light in such a way that light travels laterally through the paper as well as reflects to the audience, creating a brilliant effect that many mistake to be rear illumination. Each print is then face-mounted to acrylic and sandwiched to a protective backing. The artwork is then framed, or a recessed mount is added to the back to float on the wall. I offer many framing options on this website, or you can collect the artwork and have it framed at your preferred framer. I recommend Room for One to be framed in a simple black or brown shadowbox frame. More arrangements are available. Liners are available in Black, White, Beige. See FRAMES for more frames and liner options.
