A note from the artist
The Aria is a powerful moment for a songstress with her heart bare. This Aria is an ode to the somber power of a woman who doesn’t know her strength, yet it radiates from her anyway. She is caught between the luster of the light I, and the world, seen her by, and the dull narrative she writes for herself. The blue is that atmosphere, the red is that burnished light she can not hide. The abstractions represent the disparity between the world as it is and the world as we perceive it. Aria represents power and the ability to bend. The concave and convex curves are set against each other while the subject appears both submissive and powerful.
