a note from the artist

If ever a journey were to have beginnings it was surely by leaving somewhere behind. Leaving is what this story is about. Standing where I am, watching this schooner leave out, I realized that the stories never follow the people left behind. Left behind, our story isn't harrowing; it's everyday. Our struggle is safe harbor versus ocean gale. Our struggle is to give wind to that little voice that begs, "explore," from a shadowed nook in our minds; to strike out security for the chance to add a legacy to our lineage and brand our souls with the badges of bravery... or, to hold fast to shore.  We are vessels, like this ship, and a ship is safe in harbor, but that is not what it was made for.

Edition of 50

About the prints: I print on a premium substrate that is unparalleled in depth and luminosity. The material refracts light in such a way that light travels laterally through the paper as well as reflects to the audience creating a brilliant effect that many mistake to be rear illumination. Each print is then face mounted to acrylic and sandwiched to a protective backing. The artwork is then framed or a recessed mount is added to the back to float on the wall. I offer Tabacchino and other handmade framing options. Available starting  24”x60” 28”x72” 32”x84” 36”x96” and custom sizes. Below are examples in 4” frames with and without liners. More arrangements are available. Liners are available in Black, White, Beige. See FRAMES in the menu above for more frames and liner options.
