Chasing the leaf | Oregon
a note from the artist
Its like losing the perfect leaf. You’re running through the forest. You just had her in your hand, twirling her by the stem; a more perfect leaf has never fallen from a tree. Why should one such as this fall? You want to make it last forever, you set the leaf down to reach for your camera. The wind takes her and you’re running through the forest. Wildly you snatch leaves from the air. Don’t hurt them! You pluck them from the wind and examine them each like lost loves. Then hurl them back into chaos. There’s a thousand leaves before you and you know, you know with all your heart, one of them is perfect and you let her go. For a moment even you are lost. Nature taunts you with her perfection but you had it. You still remember what it felt like in your hands; the light was her veins when she sighed in the breeze. A moment, a fading, an after image: not enough.

About the prints: I print on a premium substrate that is unparalleled in depth and luminosity. The material refracts light in such a way that light travels laterally through the paper as well as reflects to the audience creating a brilliant effect that many mistake to be rear illumination. Each print is then face mounted to acrylic and sandwiched to a protective backing. The artwork is then framed or a recessed mount is added to the back to float on the wall. I offer Tabacchino and other handmade framing options. Available starting 60” 72” 84” & 96” and custom sizes. Below are examples in 4” frames with and without liners. More arrangements are available. Liners are available in Black, White, Beige. See FRAMES in the menu above for more frames and liner options.
