The Best Releases of 2024

I’ve been a little quiet lately, but I haven’t slowed down on creating. This year, I’ve taken on some incredibly challenging art projects, which have made the volume of new work more selective—and I’m perfectly okay with that.

Creativity is becoming decentralized. Now, anyone with a keyboard can create something ‘appealing,’ and honestly, I think that’s amazing. Imagine what the world would look like if the inner drive to be creative wasn’t suppressed by the demands of work-life imbalance, obligations, and the overwhelming ‘productivity narrative.’ While those pressures are still present, the avenues for creative expression have expanded tremendously.

The explosion of creativity happening around us has made me reflect more deeply on what I create and, more importantly, why I create it. As I’ve grown as an artist, I’ve come to embrace the idea that less is more. When quality and purpose are refined, they pull your focus into a sharp, clear line.

This year, I’ve only released five new pieces into my traditional art portfolio. Each one has undergone months of thoughtful development, fine-tuning, and care before I felt ready to share it with you.

People often ask me, “How do you know when a piece is finished?”

For me, it’s when I fall in love with the work during the final stages, usually in post-production. That feeling fuels me to spend days perfecting every detail—sometimes down to the pixel—ensuring each piece reaches its highest potential.

As we approach the end of the year, I plan to release at least two more pieces. But before I do, I want to reintroduce you to my most recent works. Click on any artwork to explore it further on my website.

Thank you for being part of my creative journey.

Collecting Art at JMFA has evolved with flexible payment options.

This year, JMFA has made some exciting changes to make collecting art even easier. I’m thrilled to announce that I now accept Klarna and Affirm. These tools allow you to break down your purchase into up to 36 manageable installments, making it more accessible to own the art you love.

It’s a seamless process with multiple financing options available at the click of a button. For example, earlier this month, Claude collected a 6-foot Tree of Fire piece. He put down $4,000 directly with me and financed the rest through Affirm. Now, Tree of Fire will live in his home for generations, and it’s arriving just in time for the holidays.

ENDURANCE

This is the face of patient perseverance — conviction to pursue ends. Passive in the face of adversity with power that needs no outward display to present itself. The story of Endurance is about pursuing one's goals with relentless momentum over mountains and through the briar.

Peace Passion & Tranquility

My work will often sit for an age until a story comes along to capture it. I captured the photos that would become this set in 2020 and finished them shortly after, but I didn't find a purpose for them until years later and released them only this year.

TAKEN AWAY

"Taken Away" is a journey into the heart of solitude, where isolation becomes a sanctuary rather than a void. The lone peak rises from the barren landscape, not as a symbol of desolation but of comfortable isolation—where the absence of others amplifies the presence of self.

Clouds are taking over my creative vision. Like the Lonely Boat Collection, they've crept into my portfolio before I recognized what was happening. I'm excited to present all the cloudscapes together one day.
