Eigengrau - 16161d: the color of the night the human eye perceives in the absence of light. It is the darkness that artists are finding in what we collectively believe is a space for art.

I want to believe that blockchain, the Cardano blockchain, is a place for artists to be seen and appreciated. I want to believe that there are collectors who genuinely believe in art for art's sake, that art is a utility, and that that utility is enough.

Eigengrau 16161d represents a blockchain with its heart turned away from art. It is a blind mint. Collecting Eigengrau is an act of faith in the art community. It will signal to the metaverse that art belongs here, and it will be a beacon for artists to follow. The artwork or works beneath the veil of Eigengrau will be revealed to the collector, minted alongside Eigengrau, and sent to the collector after Eigengrau is collected.

The Policy for Eigengrau has expired, and I’ve decided to remove this NFT from the market. With the Policy having closed, I cannot mint the reveal NFT under the same NFT or update this NFT to the artwork I intended to reveal.

Eigengrau is the color of darkness. Therefore, I thought it fitting that the revealed piece would have been “For The Love Of Light”.

The owner of Eigengrau would have received the Eigengrau NFT + the rewarded artwork as both an NFT and a Physical piece with a minted COA. The physical artwork is conceptually correlated to Eigengrau and measures 48” on the long side. I have three recommended framing options for the reveal-piece but any frame is also included with the art purchase.

The 48” FTLL will remain an Edition of 1 connected to this NFT.
